The McAvoy Sisters Book of Secrets
by Molly Fader
*I received an ARC of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway*
2.5 starts rounded up because this is a decent summer read. It definitely needs to be consumed on a beach or a hot afternoon on a back porch with some iced tea. A story focused on a family in a small fishing town - specifically two sisters coming back together after 17 years - and the secrets that have been ignored for two decades. My biggest issue is how disconnected a lot of the pacing and the dialogue felt. The characters are likable enough and I really wanted to enjoy it but the ‘twists’ felt thrown in out of no where because the editor thought the final
draft was boring.
