The Drowned World by J.G. Ballard

Did not finish book. Stopped at 47%.
This book is set in a swampy, humid, hot future and reading it felt like wading through those swamps. I got halfway and had no desire to wade more. The language is, I suppose, compelling at times, but to what end? The plot is beside the point, as are the characters, and then all you have left is the setting and a mildly interesting idea about "organic memory" that can be awakened by changing environmental conditions. It's not enough to carry your through the whole book.
