This was a cute summer read! This story focuses on neighbors Lou Patterson and Sam Alvarez. They were inseparable until a very embarrassing prom-posal in middle school, and they haven’t talked since. Flash forward 4 years, seniors in high school, when Lou needs a ride to her SAT she asks Sam for a ride and sparks are reignited. Meanwhile, Lou is trying her best to get into a good college and bears the weight of her mother’s expectations to go to college since her sister gave up her scholarship to Princeton have a baby. On the other hand, Sam is trying to figure out what to do with his life while still mourning the death of his father. They both reconnect and decide to finish a bucket list they wrote together as kids. Throughout this story as they cross off things from the list, they become friends again and possibly more ? I really enjoyed reading this book, both of the characters were like-able and I also liked how each chapter switched between Lou and Sam’s POV. I was able to see what was running through both of their minds simultaneously. At first this book was a tad bit slow, but as I kept reading I felt that it got more interesting. This was the perfect book to start off my summer reading!! If you are looking for a cute, poolside read then definitely check this one out
