Did not finish book. Stopped at 55%.
There are many reasons why I DNF'd this book. In no particular order:
- I couldn't feel any connection to any character. I genuinely didn't care, which is an awful thing to say about a book on slavery.
- I got lost in the story several times, because it seemed to randomly jump around.
- I couldn't grasp the magical part of the book. It was just confusing.
- I disliked the writing style because to me it felt like swimming though jelly.
