Thank you to Tylor Paige for the chance to read an e-arc of this book! All thoughts are my own.
I really enjoyed the premise of a dancer and ex-con filling the roles of Daisy and Gatsby. The retelling was a bit too on the nose for me, but it was still fun.
The “green light” references were a bit too frequent for me. As someone who’s read Gatsby probably 10 times, I understand its significance, but I felt like it could’ve been a bit more nuanced.
As always consider your triggers, as there are some heavy topics that can be tough to read about.
Tropes:
✨principal dancer & ex-con
✨cännǐbalism
✨Gatsby retelling
✨dark romance
