This was a story I thought I knew, but I didn't and I am glad that Hallie Rubenhold has explored the Ripper from the women's point of view. For they are seen as victims who were less worthy of pity. That is not true and this book explains why and also takes you into the lives of Victorian women from different classes who for reasons, many beyond their control find themselves in place of vulnerability that out them in the path of their killer.
