This felt intensely personal. I often wonder about the kind of strength it would take for someone at the receiving end of abuse to write about it, and with precision and wholeness, that reading a similar account (albeit fictional) made my stomach tie up in knots. 
Terrific writing. I was constantly annotating and rereading passages that gave me pause.
