“If you were mine, Iris, there would be no doubt what position you’d hold in my life. You’d be center. I’d play you at the five.” 🖤🥹

4.5⭐️
August and Iris form an instant connection at a bar the night before the most monumental game of his college ball career against his rival…who also happens to be her boyfriend.

This was one of the most traumatizing love stories I’ve read. 😭 I can’t say I really “enjoyed” this book given the brutal, graphic descriptions of heavy subject matter for majority of it but I definitely appreciated reading it. Iris’ dark story and healing journey were so well written and (unfortunately) very relatable for so many. At some point, I gave up hope on any real romance making an appearance on these pages but somehow Kennedy Ryan was able to transform all the pain and immense amounts of suffering Iris endured into something beautiful with August.
