The Conspiracy
by K.A. Applegate
medium-paced
I listened to this one as an audiobook, in one sitting.
Filler. Just filler. Nothing important happened. They had an opportunity to starve the Yeerk in Jake's brother, and they didn't do it. They had Ax torture a guy, for not much of a reason.
I think this one was originally going to be from Ax's POV, as there's a line where Jake calls a gun "primative human technology." Only Ax has ever said that. Why would Jake call a gun that?
Or, maybe someone copy/pasted the line from an Ax book and just didn't fix it? I don't know.
I did enjoy the narrator's voice though. Good job MacLeod Andrews.
2 out of 5 stars.
