A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
Let me just finish my consistant crying to write this review.
The only book, I believe, in the whole series to hold up as well as ACOMAF. I can’t tell you which is my favourite out of the two because I literalllllly cannot decide.
It was a rocky start for me on this one because having to get accustomed to it being from Nesta and Cassian’s POV’s… and not Rhys and Feyre’s.
Ha.
When I did finally relent, well, I truly have been sucked in.
I cannot believe SJM managed to completely 180 my disdain for Nesta. In one book. I love her. Fiercely.
The introduction to Gwyn and Emerie in this book has also pierced my soul. The sisterly bond kills me. My little trio of Valkyries.
Don’t get me started on how much I love ‘The House’.
Like what do you mean?
It’s perfect. It’s own little personality. How can I have so much feeling towards it? I don’t know but I DO.

My usual critique just involves what I worried about in the last book…
Feyre and Rhys being pregnant.
Of course it happened but y’know.
A small complaint.
And also the fact nobody faced any sort of actual peril again. I actually wholeheartedly broke at Nesta giving everything up to save her sister and her family, but it still remains that nobody seems to die in this world. Except characters we just don’t care for (RIP Daddy Archeron).
I also feel like Rhys is getting a worse and worse rep too. I only saw glimpses of the fae I fell for in ACOMAF. So sad so sad.
There’s a whole buttload of smut in this too. It felt like it went on for literal chapters. I love a bit of spice as much as the next but I don’t think it needed to be that constant. Cassian throwing out the C-bomb actually made me cringe. So unnecessary.

I feel like my annoyance in this book paled in comparison to how much I adored it. So five stars. For capturing my heart again.
