Our Darkest Night: A Novel of Italy and the Second World War
by Jennifer Robson
I generally enjoyed this, but it suffered from one of my personal pet peeves about WWII fiction — fairly unrealistic outcomes. I’m pretty sure that, realistically, AT LEAST Nico and probably Nina wouldn’t have survived. Yes, it’s possible they could have survived, but this felt too rosy to me.
