Let's Get Lost
by Adi Alsaid
So, this one is a mixed bag, which is disappointing because I loved "Never, Always, Sometimes" so much. But, let me give it to you straight:
Bad Things:
- INSTA-LOVE. Like, seriously, this inexplicably undeveloped insta-love that was completely unlikeable to me.
- The POVS seemed a little too short to really get attached to the characters.
- Sometimes Leila seemed like a manic pixie dream girl. By the end, she was more fleshed out, but in the beginning she seemed to be there just to help other characters, and to laugh her ~*~oh-so-incredible~*~ laugh.
- The cheese-fest ending.
Good Things:
- ROADTRIPS. I read this on a road trip, and it was pretty amazing. C'mon who doesn't love a bit of wanderlust?
- All the music mentioned in this book was awesome (Adi, you have some great taste).
- The writing style was amazing and immersive. Honestly, Adi Alsaid is one of the most talented YA authors, and even though this was sort of lackluster, I will definitely continue to read his books.
