The Leavers
by Lisa Ko
The Leavers was engaging to me from the beginning. I wanted to find out what happened to Daniel's mom Polly and what Daniel did to find his Mom. I enjoyed how the book focuses on both Daniel's and Polly's perspective. Both of the characters views being incorporated throughout the book allowed me to see what each character was going through during varying times throughout the novel. The two perspectives added depth to the character development for the book.
I found the story enjoyable but there were many parts that were very slow. I would get to a part of the book that I would be interested in and things would slow down just as things began to pick up. I would get excited about and event and then it would be slow going.
Overall, the plot was good and the character development were done nicely as well! If you are in need of a good book to read pick up The Leavers today!
