The Measure
by Nikki Erlick
Such a beautiful book. I'm a sucker for a book that captures the human experience, and this did that in such a raw (and somewhat terrifying for a southern Baptist kid) way. I loved the different characters and how unique they each were, but we're all still so relatable. I loved the connections that were made between them all. I loved the choices they were able to make and the lessons those choices shared.
I also really liked this book as a critique of society and what it could be if people were better than what they often are.
I'm rambling, but this is one that will stay with me for a long time. I guessed what was coming and was still devastated while also being full of hope.
