I just- no.

The beginning was great, the middle was a confused jumble of stalling enlivened only by 19324873 references I didn't get, and the ending was... A deception?

I'm not sure what makes this a modern classic, if not for the countless 80s shoutouts that seem pulled from a Wikipedia page. Also, the whole gadget incorporation feels so fanfiction-like.
