Death Note has admittedly had some struggle in the last few volumes,
particularly after the death of L,
but Volume 8 certainly picks up the pace and brings some much needed tension back into the series! The art is stunning as always and I love just how frightening Light looks in some of these panels and the contrast of Near’s lack of shading works excellently! I do feel that the first two chapter did take their time to get going but once I got past those, I found that this volume really picked up! I do think this series may have jumped the shark in the last few parts but I felt that volume 8 was a good step in the right direction and I hope that this continues into future volumes.
