Bowie: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams by Mike Allred, Steve Horton, Laura Allred

medium-paced

3.0

So very confusing. It was very hard to find story elements or figure out anything about anyone's motivations, feelings, thoughts... It was more like someone had taken a timeline from Bowie's life and put it in graphic novel format, only it's really hard to understand why some items made it onto the timeline. I got the sense we were somehow supposed to divine the significance of quite a lot of what happened in this graphic novel. I certainly couldn't. Maybe the intended audience is people already very familiar with Bowie's life, art, and story.

The art was detailed, and the depictions of costumes and energy onstage were the highlights.

I just don't really feel like I know Bowie at all after reading this.
