Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

5.0

This is the first book in the series that delves further into the wizarding world surrounding Hogwarts. The first 20 chapters of the story take place before Harry returns to school. These chapters delve into the topic of the ministry as well as the Quidditch World Cup. After Harry and his pals return to school, Dumbledore makes an announcement about the Tri-Wizard Cup, revealing to us—for the first time—that there are wizarding schools other than Hogwarts. The darkly reputed Durmstrang Institute and the distinguished Beauxbatons Academy of Magic are the two that make an appearance in The Goblet of Fire. Following the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Goblet of Fire continues to give the evolving story darker turns. After the previous Dementors and Azkaban, Rowling introduces us to the Death Eaters and the Dark Mark this time around. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, the plot continues to be fresh and engaging. Throughout the course of this book, the characters undergo substantial character development, and Voldemort makes a triumphant return. This is also the first time a character dies, significantly shifting the tone of the series.

“If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
