Last Call at the Nightingale by Katharine Schellman

4.0

The Nightingale, where illegal booze flows and everything’s goes! Vivian has found her own little slice of heaven at the Nightingale, where she can forget about her worries at night and by day is a seamstress for a dress maker. But when Vivian discovers a dead body behind the club and is later caught in the middle of a police raid, Vivian’s life and her favorite place is put on the line and she must get down to the bottom of what is going on. Last Call at the Nightingale is set during the 1920’s prohibition and is sure to dazzle and pull your right into this murder mystery.

What a fun murder mystery!! I’m a huge murder mystery fan, all of the snooping and clue hunting that Vivian did was everything I would have wanted to see from a good mystery, I truly didn’t see where this story was heading and loved how everything added up perfectly.

The cast also was another area that was well done! I loved everything except the fact that Florence was such a downer, but she’s the older sister and sometimes they’re just like that! Haha Danny and Bea were ultimately my favorite, Bea and Vivian’s friendship is definitely one to admire.

There was also a good blend of representation in this book which is perfection! So overall, loved this book and if you love the 1920’s flapper
period, that alone should be a reason to pick it up!!
