I wasn't sure how to feel about this book at first. I started off with little empathy for Tessa, which changed as we went along. I also found that every background character, such as Tessa's boyfriend or her mother or therapist where so completely unlikable and just not at all supportive.
I think the one thing that most bothered me, and why I didn't give five stars, was the description of fangirls. yes they can be scary, but out of all of them i can't believe that only Tessa is special and sees reality. I found that notion dismissive.
At first I didn't realise this was meant to be part of a series because it would have made a good stand alone, although of course now I am curious to see what happens in the next. Because that was quite the cliffhanger we were left with.
