Disorderly Conduct
by Tessa Bailey
Okay, I want to start by saying I love Tessa Bailey. She is an auto-buy for me. Her dirty talking alphas are the best (I love you, Derek!) and I've read most of her books. She writes quite a few cops and usually they're not really cops on the page, they're like hostage negotiators that come home from work in a suit and I can pretend they're accountants instead and it's fine. This book however...yikes. He's a COP and loves all things cops. They even go to a cop memorial. It was hard to read. I decided not to finish the series and wanted to let people know that if they, like me, are struggling with the reality of police brutality and wanting to defund the police then this book is probably not for you.
That being said, I liked the heroine and their relationship. I found the dynamic fun and not really something I had read before. She has been raised that men will always disappoint you and not to do relationships. I've seen that a lot from heroes but it's somewhat rare for a heroine. If the hero of this book had had literally any other job it would have been a 4.5 star, super fun very hot read.
