This book is brilliant and brilliantly written. In a micro sense, it's a first-person look at addiction. You root for Demon the whole way through and understand every step of the way how and why things play out for him as they do. It's a stigma-breaking, stigma-examining book. In a macro sense, it's a look at the opioid crisis and how it has played out in certain communities across the country in the US.
Moderate: Drug abuse, Physical abuse, Violence, Domestic abuse, Death of parent, Drug use, Trafficking, and Addiction
