📌“I’m not going to ask for you to forgive me because I want to earn it.”

📌“I want to make this marriage into one you can be proud of no matter what it looks like or how long it’s meant to last. I don’t want it to be something you regret.”

📌“This was never meant to be permanent, but suddenly when I picture my future, I can’t see it without the presence of her notes in the dark.”

Oof. Lachlan Kane. Immediately book boyfriend. This budget Batman walked in and left a mess all over. Why? Because he touched every little nook and cranny of both Lark and myself, and I just stood there thinking, “please and thank you.”

Ah my beautiful, dark Lark… she’s the real superStar here. Her darkness shined as bright as her light did and it took no effort at all to love her. These two were so well matched — I think Queen Muffin Ethel would agree with me.

I love me some marriage of convenience. It’s probably one of my top tropes. That first time he tells someone not to mess with his *wife* does things to me and my poor heart. And the way Brynne Weaver delivered on the rest of the plot as masterfully as in Butcher & Blackbird just shows how brilliant she is. The bar was set in the stratosphere with B&B and she just kept it there with L&L like it was easy 😱. Maybe it is for her. And maybe I’ll be forever grateful for that 😜

If you haven’t picked up this series, this is your sign 🪧 to do so!
