I received a copy of The Chronicles of Captain Shelly Manhar from the author, Nabila Fairuz, in exchange for an honest review! When I first received the book, I was intrigued, to say the least. I love pirate lore, pirate tales and pirate history! It is a subject that I find truly fascinating. I could not wait to read this book.

This story is about a young, fierce pirate, named Captain Shelley Manhar. Her family is separated by tragedy. Her and her sister, Anna, come up with a way to find their family. Their idea is to steal a ship and sail all across the Caribbean. However, during this adventure, her sister is killed. Captain Shelley slowly becomes more introverted and heartless. No one will stand in her way and she is greatly feared. After gathering a crew, she is captured and arrested by her brother. It is then up to her to help free her crew and bring her family together.

First of all, this story has so much potential! I really enjoyed where the author wanted to take this story. However, it does need a bit of work.
