On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong

4.5

OKay okay okay, this was banging. I didn't expect it to live up to the hype surrounding it but it unequivocally did.

An absurd way to narrate time, continuity, and  plot but drenched in intense feeling in every line.

A queer Vietnamese first gen American writes a letter to his distant, mentally ill mother. And this book is that letter. Gorgeous, intense and deeply gay.
