Overall, a great book and pretty quick read! I’m not a big tennis person but I have played (team) sports for most of my life and dabbled in tennis, so this was a super interesting read. I learned more about tennis and was able to appreciate the beauty of the sport and competition at that level. It was cool to see the strategy in tennis which is so different from the sports I played. It delved into themes of feminism, self-discovery, emotional growth, and more. I related a lot to Carrie, who struggles with accepting defeat especially at something she’s been told and proven that she’s good at. Her ability to let go more and more was inspiring and felt real.
