The Seventh Veil of Salome by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
3.0

Not sure how I feel about this one. I think the telling of Salome’s story was interesting along with Vera and Nancy’s. But I feel like there was a lot of extra stuff/perspectives that could have been left out. It felt like it was trying to be so many things at once, I’m specifically thinking of the character chapters that are like interviews in present day but you don’t really get that confirmation until the last few pages. So it felt like it was trying to be Daisy Jones and the six in that way, then you have the biblical story of Salome and then the stories of Vera and Nancy. I would have liked to have seen Vera reap the benefits of her film to get back at Nancy but did like that she pursued music. I’m just glad Vera didn’t die but sad that Jay did. The whole time with Nancy I kept thinking of Pearl and Maxxxine lol The atmosphere was cool I just don’t think I care enough about that time period and industry and found it kind of boring at parts.
