I really like that Evangeline asks Dane in multiple situations what things make them comfortable and uncomfortable. I like that Dane's unapologetically confused by their gender. The author definitely seems to have done her work with writing a character that is nonbinary, like Dane is very individual and not just a bunch of tropes while being relatable.
