Roman is unhinged, and I LOVE IT.

Roman was in love with Violet since they had been kids, and he was hoping that on his 15th birthday the god's would tell him that Violet is his mate. Plot twist - they told him that her twin sister Vivian is his mate. Violet and Vivian couldn't be more different. Vivian trains with the guards and excels at it, while Violet would much rather spend her days sowing, collecting shells and flowers. Roman vow's that he will find a way to marry Violet regardless of the mate bond.

Since they met as kids, we got to see them grow up and get into shit together. Roman became more and more unhinged as the story goes on, and I honestly love that for him. He stuck by Violet's side, and made sure she was safe and protected at all times (even if she had no clue that he was). While Roman is falling head over heels in love with Violet, she is also falling in love with him, but also feels like she is "second best" since her twin is his mate. She eventually broke it off with him, and tried to distance herself from him. Which lasted for all of a few years.

While there is some other woman/man drama in this book, I wasn't worried too badly since I knew we would get a happy ending out of it. Roman is a man written by a woman, and he was perfect. He had eyes only for Violet, and he was so down bad for her, he didn't care what he did or who he hurt to make sure she was happy and safe.
