My thirteen year old really enjoyed this as a readaloud. It's a quirky story with multiple characters. Funny to see some of the social commentary from 1978. Raskin knows who her strongest character is, and makes her develop nicely through the story.
I don't know if we're supposed to be able to solve the mystery while reading; I certainly couldn't, I wasn't even sure what we were solving in some parts, but it was an entertaining read anyhow.
