Give Me Butterflies by Jillian Meadows
4.0
emotional hopeful medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

I loved the characters in this book, Finn's grumpiness barely lasted a quarter of the book and he was the sweetest guy and so obsessed with Millie and his girls. The girls felt like real children, not overdramatised or unrealistic versions that you tend to get in single parent rom-com books. Millie was strong and sensitive and I loved how kind she was. Her friends and family were sweet and kind and a great showcase of what supportive and accepting people look like.

I liked the subplot surrounding Millie's ex-boyfriend, her job promotion and Finn's parents. They made the characters feel more real and added more of a story to the book. It added in a bit of struggle and sadness and tension in an otherwise positive and cute book.

I liked the writing style, it was soft and easy to read. I liked the museum setting and the details that made the place feel real, especially the coffee shop. An enjoyable book and I loved both the epilogues.
