"The Senator's Wife" managed to feel like a long book to me, despite being just nine hours on audio. The first third was largely centered on high-society dynamics that simply didn't hold much interest to me. Thankfully, the intrigue builds during the net third, and I found myself more invested in the characters and their motives. The last third of the book was both surprising and satisfying. 3.5 stars rounded down.
