I have really been enjoying this series of books.
This story deals with identity; a sense of belonging, understanding your own culture, and being strong enough to stand up for your beliefs, even against your own. Some characters have a great sense of themselves and their part in the greater scheme. Others are looking for where or how they fit in.
Yet again, I'm so impressed with how authors can create a whole way of living and thinking; I love the rituals and processes surrounding death, and the respect that people have for the 'caretakers', how highly their role is valued in the community.
I don't know if these books are an easy read, or whether I simply finish them so quickly because I am so immersed in their worlds.
