i think this was the hardest book to go read out of the other in the trilogy, but it's only because i was too frustrated and sad and anxious that i could NOT handle reading this, especially when it was extremely high stake, but that ending. it was PAINFUL and bittersweet, but it makes so much sense.

my tiny fragile heart can't handle it, i'm trying not to sob while reading this because it is kind of an open to interpretation in the ending, but i am damn sure that it is a happy ending with pip and ravi for me because it would be SO UNFAIR...

i was close to dnf-ing this book because i was so afraid of how it would end, and i made sure to take breathers once i reached part 2 because oh my god, it took such a dark turn that i was screaming at the book and at pip because i would say it was 'out of character' of her, but we can't compare the pip now to the pre-trauma pip because trauma can change a person and it's so human to see her change, which is why i had the hardest time reading this once since it was extremely depressing.

ravi, my boy. you deserve sunshine.

the wrap up to the whole mystery was just perfection, and this book- this trilogy, is the best young adult murder mystery and thriller books i have ever come across and i do not regret spending dozens of sleepless nights because i was too caught up with the story.

pip is one of the most human characters that i have ever read, which is why she is part of my fav protagonists. she was angry, she was hurt, she was happy until she wasn't, and reading her mind even from a third person pov was painful.

i will forever treasure this series and miss holly has become a sure-buy author! i can't wait to complete her bookography and the adaptation to this trilogy, which i'm sure will be so successful.
