The Queen's Resistance by Rebecca Ross

3.0

Sequel syndrome. I love cheesy stuff but the whole ending with aaall the characters appearing again and ohh I love you, ohhh marry me, oh we will make out in front of your whole fsmily now. Oof.
I liked the first book a lot, the passion system was nice and had me intrigued. The fact that Brienna was just not good at things. But the sequel? Suddenly she's a warrior and actress and strong and smart and evvrything good and everyone loves her for god knows what reason.
Cartier was a master of knowledge, a mysterious attractive man but now he just turned into an impulsive guy who can't hide his feelings. He's been hiding his feelings for 15 years or so, he has practice but suddenly he turned into a completely different and unlikeable character. Bad sequel. Standard medieval setting fantasy book, everything special about it.... gone.
