This is the first book in the Savage Sins series, a collection of standalones within the same realm/family. This book is a dark billionaire romance that was strong Mafia/organized crime vibes. Thank you to the author and Grey’s Promotions for my eArc.

The Lovely: I loved the FMC, Jordyn. She’s feisty and sassy, with the smarts to back it up. As the CFO of her family’s casino empire she’s used to playing in a man’s world, even though her sexist father denies her a seat at the table. And this fires her up-which I loved to see. 

The Mundane: I struggled with feeling like there wasn’t a true connection between the main characters. It felt like their physical relationship was all there was, partly due to the repetitive action in their relationship. We see, repetitively, how possessive the MMC is, his same punishments, etc. This left little room for them to explore other sides of their relationship. 

Recommendation: While not a mafia romance in the truest sense, this book reads like mafia romance in terms of tension, threat of violence, morally gray men and steamy romance. This was a fun read, especially with the sort of “whodunnit” element. If you like a steamy dark romance with an over the top possessive MMC, I think you’d like this book.
