This book is a must read. Isabel Wilkerson is a thoughtful and compassionate historian, and I absolutely loved reading the individual stories of Ida Mae Gladney, George Swanson Starling, and Robert Pershing Foster, while learning a detailed account of the Great Migration as a whole.
