Stuck with You by Ali Hazelwood

5.0

Once again I am obsessed with Ali's work. Not only do her books and novellas perfectly capture what it's like being a woman in STEM, but she also gives us wonderfully swoon-worthy love interests.

I really enjoyed Sadie's story and love that she's an engineer high up in her company. Her character was a little chaotic, but I empathized with her over her anger with Erik. Too many women in STEM find themselves in similar situations and it was hard to hate the miscommunication trope here (and it's easily one of my least favorite tropes) when I could see Sadie's point of view. I thought Erik handled the situation well when he learned of it and I loved his adoration of Sadie and how he was enamored from the start. I'm not usually a big fan of insta-love, but when the love interest is wrapped around the main character's finger and thinks so highly of her, how could I not be? Only Ali Hazelwood could make exceptions for tropes I normally don't like and turn them into a novella that I adore.

The story flips back and forth from the present to the past when Sadie met Erik and once again the writing was fun and there was lots of delightful banter. Top it off with some spice and you've got the perfect romcom novella!
