4.0

A short but powerful collection of short stories. Mamoun manages to convey the richness of human feelings - ranging from love, friendship, sadness and despair - without overuse of language. He writing is crisp, clear and contained but you really feel deeply for the characters of her stories. My favourite stories were 'Doors' and 'Cities and Other Cities'. I hope her two published novels will be translated into English as well, as I would love to read more of her work.
