I am really beginning to like reading anthologies. A while ago I thought anthologies were short stories meant to tease but now I know that when I read an anthology, I get a taste of new to me authors. While some stories in any anthology may be short quick stories, some are actually full length novels. A bonus for buying and reading anthologies is that usually the money I spend on the “books” goes to help out a good cause. There are times when the anthology is just for the fun and love of reading and writing, as is the case with Hunks to the Rescue!

The first story I read was Destiny’s Secret by Raine English. This was a great story. While it was a quick read there were enough details about the characters and situation that I immediately liked them. After reading this story, ghosts just might be real…if your mind is open enough…

Dark Current by Lynda Haviland is A Hidden Coast romance novella. It is set in a place called Pearl Key, Florida, after a hurricane has come through the area. Ben is a travelling handy man. Willow is a marina owner in need of some help. These two help each other in the sweetest of ways. Just enough mystery in this novella to make me want to read more from Lynda Haviland.

That Unexpected Kiss by Tamera Ferguson. I have to say that Ms. Ferguson is not a new to me author and boy do I love her stories from Dragonfly Pointe and the people who live there. This story is not a novella but it is a standalone. There are some references to others which makes me want to go back and re-read Ferguson’s other books. Dylan and Julie seem destined for each other but they hesitate to be together.

Coaching the Sub by Debbie White is a story about Shannon, the substitute teacher and Brock, the coach. It’s a heart-warming read that other teachers can relate to. Some kids need an extra helping hand when it comes to education and luckily enough those kids in this story have the sub and the coach looking out for them. Coaching the Sub shows that every person truly needs someone to believe in them.

An Unexpected Twist by Krista Ames has a sweet looking cover and as the name suggests there’s a twist! When Kelsey decides she needs a change, she ends up a long way from home and in the arms of a stranger. Boone is that stranger and he uses his arms to save people and animals every day since he is a forest fire fighter. This was a sexy sweet story. Love at first sight kind of hot.

I highly recommend this anthology. This anthology has new to me authors as well as new to me heroes and heroines! I am looking forward to reading more from all of the authors mentioned in this review and even those not mentioned.
