Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
3.0
Read this for a class and I enjoyed the central theme that western colonialism harms not only the people who are being colonised but also those that perpetrate colonialism suffer morally and become monsters. I didn’t like some of the racist language used in the book and the more sympathetic view taken towards the colonisers than those colonised, but overall a good read.
