Wow! I loved this! First book I've read by the author but I've already added the sequel to my TBR list.
After the Second Revolution in America, homosexuals are considered criminals by a barbaric government. The scary thing is, this reads like a future dystopia novel, yet the fact that homosexuality is still considered a crime in so many places around the world, its horrifying how close humanity is to this reality. That realisation added quite a haunting aspect to this book.
Amelia and Bethany are best friends who have been in love with each other forever, but aren't able to be together due to the Commission of the People and their Sweep teams, who are doing their best to rid America of "undesirables." When Amelia finds out her sister has joined a domestic terrorist group, The Coalition run by K and M, and inadvertently finds herself aiding them, what follows is a whirlwhird of emotions and tough choices about whether to flee or fight.
This was well-written, with heavy emotion and thrilling action. I'm very curious to learn more about K and M, and I absolutely loved Amelia's parents reaction to everything. I can't wait to read more!
