Blameless by Gail Carriger

3.0

I'll admit, I was a little disappointed with this book. I guess it's because of the lack of romance {since I'm pretty much a sucker for a little romance in every book I read}. One good quality of this book is the action. Alexia fights more {this time with a stool} and Floote and Madame Lefoux are featured more. I absolutely love Madame Lefoux because she's so modern and she doesn't care much for what other people say. Lord Maccon doesn't show up much in this book. :( I thought Carriger could have wrote more on Alexia's feelings on carrying a child, but I guess she didn't since this isn't written in first person and Alexia doesn't like showing much weakness. Alexia's humor and wit was lovely {as always} and Floote makes a wonderful sidekick. I enjoyed Lyall's scenes {since he sort of takes the front row for Werewolf since Conall was mostly away or inebriated}. I also didn't care much for the little plot twist Carriger threw in there. I guess there's two, but I didn't care for the one involving the vampire chase. I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just move on to the next thing. XD I liked this book, but I didn't love it like I did the first in the Parasol Protectorate series {Soulless}.
