This book felt very nostalgic, even though I don't remember reading it when I was a kid.
It was lovely, and sad, and sweet, and a beautiful picture of friendship and learning to see past your assumptions of people.
It would probably have a higher rating if I had reread it a couple of years ago, but at the end of the day it is a middle grade book, and I prefer more detail and developed stories.
