Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
4.0
4/5 stars
I'm actually surprised by how much I've come to like this book after the first volume, which I found to be quite repetitive and tedious at times.
I've found myself thinking about the characters throughout the day when I wasn't reading this book, and I think this goes to show Dickens' ability to write characters that feel alive.
The transition from Pip's Great Expectations to his inevitable disenchantment was masterfully done.
