The Bookshop of Second Chances by Jackie Fraser

4.0

Been selling out of this one at the store lately, and with the world looking the way it does, I get why. This book is pure escapist comfy pleasure. You've seen this movie, and you probably loved this movie.

Have you seen UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN? This book is that movie, except instead of sunny Italy, it's cold and rainy Scotland and a cozy shop for rare books (meaning, if you're like me, that it's better). The author and protagonist never outright say that the two male leads are supposed to look like Colin Firth and Hugh Grant respectively, but you just kinda KNOW that they are. This is PRIDE AND PREDJUDICE plus bookshop. Do you need more?

Edit 2023: Rereading this got me out of a brief reading slump. Still highly recommend!
