Heee, I enjoyed this book way more than I had anticipated! It was slow getting through the first 1/3 of the book, but then I tore through the rest. It resonated with me a lot, being a recent college grad myself, and leaving college to go into a recession. Graduating in 1982 and graduating in 2010 are not vastly different.
TOTALLY delighted by the tightness of the story and the careful structuring that made it like one of Madeleine's Victorian novels, with the marriage plot intact. It was funny and academic and wistful and astute. I'd venture to say that I liked this almost as much as I liked Middlesex, which I adored.
