This novella came right on time with the recent events of the world AND with the holiday honoring the freedom of my people!
For some reason, I read the book blindly (as in I did not read the synopsis). I said it’s about Juneteenth, it’s by a black author, ima buy it. I assumed it would have a bbq for sure in it but nope Danielle took it another direction and boyyyy was it a steamy one.
This book had important dialogue about the African American culture and provides understanding for those who may not know. My favorite thing is that the characters were BLACK, and they did BLACK shit with BLACK pride! ✊
