Reading this for a second time but now as an adult is a completely different experience.
For starters, I think that when I first read this, the idea of Katniss being 16 years old was not as big deal for me. BUT MY GOD, her age was CONSTANTLY on the back of my mind when reading. She was 16th and responsible for not only her sister, but her mother. She was forced to play to the death and maneuver things that I would never ever be able to do. AND OF COURSE, it is fiction, but it can also be the reality of many young humans that are living in less than desirable situations. People that need to survive with so little from a young age. AHH theres so much I am thinking and yet no words that I can actually put in place to make my feelings justice. All this to say that this book it still holds so much power, and it's simply such an amazing story.
Can't wait to re-read the rest of the series, I remember hating MockingJay and Catching Fire being my favorite, so lets see if that still tracks.
