I found this book to be incredibly boring (though not so boring I couldn't finish it, and that's important for me to add because I sure do DNF a ton of boring books). The plot was so forgettable that even though I read a pretty thorough summary not five minutes ago, I've once again lost any memory for the specifics of the plot whatsoever. In fact, I think the only reason I'm remembering it's broad strokes ("string tells you how long you'll live") is because I'm writing this while looking at the book cover at this very moment, which includes an illustration of a string. I am so sorry to anybody who's loved this book, but I've watched dystopian TikTok POVs that were more compelling. Not terrible! Just deeply boring!
